From Sainsbury, usual price £5 but bought for £3.75 with a 25%-off 6- bottles deal!

Old fashioned designation of Vin de France…or vin de table if you like; this white Sauvignon is from the Languedoc.

It’s quite drinkable and at the price good value but I can’t help but think there is so much out there in the Loire and Bordeaux first, before we ever get so far to the south where this wine/grape comes from,  that would likely show more distinctively interesting characteristics …something like even cheaper-end Touraine or Entre-deux-Mers…fresher, sharper, crisper perhaps than this with its more intense fruit to the fore.

But it was  good to try it once except I’ll investigate something else the next time there is a 25% deal on and I want cheap white.

Having said that.....a nice wine for less than £4? Shouldn't complain really

Vin de table is fine at £3.75, especially if enhanced with food. I'm agree though So think SB is better from the Loire or Atlantic Coast, they are not so in your face with the nose and seem to have a much deeper flavour and finish.

Languedoc for me is Picpoul or reds such as Corbiere, Minervois, Faugeres
